Live music

We present Blue Carbon Ecosystem Music using seaweed as the sound source, performed in solo, duet, or trio arrangements.

Our music conveys the message that the decline of seaweed due to rising sea temperatures is a significant issue from the perspective of biodiversity.

Let the sounds of seaweed, standing on the frontline in the fight against climate change, help you organize your thoughts and face the challenges of climate change.

Translation

Providing specialized English-to-Japanese translations focused on climate change measures. Leveraging 22 years of living in the United States and a history of translation and publishing, we offer services for translating all related documents from English to Japanese.

Our expertise includes creating subtitles for TED Talks and documentary films, as well as translating books and documents, and conducting research and searches for academic papers.

We have worked on translations such as "This is not a drill" in Barcelona, Spain, and Paul Hawken's "Regeneration."

Data Sonification

We create art pieces utilizing experimental and observational data from blue carbon ecosystems. While data and story visualization is common, we engage in sonification to perceive the data through sound.

Using a computer processing tool called MAX, we transform scientific data into sound, elevating it into artistic musical expressions.

Musical instrument

We manufacture and sell instruments and accessories made from dried Japanese kelp. We are currently researching export procedures for international shipping.

Our products include kelp shakers, brushing sounds made from finely shredded kelp, unique acoustics from cubed kelp, sounds produced by bowing kelp, playing techniques using fishing lines on kelp, and other instruments like barnacle shells for wind playing and their instructional methods.

Workshop

We host workshops that explain Blue Carbon Ecosystem Music and present techniques for performance and the creation of kelp instruments. Believing in the natural power that resides in life born from the Mother Sea, these workshops aim to empower everyone by focusing on ecosystem conservation and climate change countermeasures, envisioning a new world.

World tour

Blue Carbon Music, which began near Tokyo, Japan, has reached Maryland, USA, in 2023 after performances in Shikoku and Miyagi Prefecture. In September 2024, Blue Carbon Music is scheduled to perform in Taiwan.

We aim to expand our performances to all countries with higher greenhouse gas emissions than Japan. We are currently seeking opportunities to perform in Russia and India and would be delighted to receive invitations.
